We are partnering with Sony Pictures Entertainment to fill a DevOps Engineer role to design and operate the high-performance, low-latency cloud infrastructure behind Sony’s video and streaming services. You will partner closely with engineering and security teams to build robust CI/CD pipelines and lead incident response for high-throughput workloads.
This will be a hybrid setup (Onsite - Mondays to Thursdays / Remote - Fridays) and will report directly to Sony regarding the project.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and operate highly available, low-latency cloud infrastructure for video and streaming services
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting frequent, reliable releases across distributed systems
- Automate infrastructure and deployments using Infrastructure as Code
- Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and cost for high-throughput workloads
- Partner with engineering, media, and security teams to support end-to-end workflows
- Lead incident response and drive reliability improvements for production services
- Evaluate and adopt new tools, platforms, and practices to improve reliability and developer velocity
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform roles
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Linux systems
- Hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform or equivalent) and CI/CD tooling
- Experience with multi-region, fault-tolerant and highly available architectures
- Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Bash)
- Knowledge of system architectures, observability tools, and cloud security best practices
- Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes…)
- Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn, evaluate, and adopt new tools and technologies
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, NAT, and firewall)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with streaming, media processing, or content delivery platforms
- Cloud certifications
Job Work Set up:
- Hybrid (Office Location: Culver City, CA): Onsite - Mondays to Thursdays / Remote - Fridays
- 40 work hours/week
- Full-Time Position with Benefits - Includes Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage through HMO available after 90 days of employment
Note: This position does not include Paid Time Off (PTO).
