What you can expect
As a DevOps Infrastructure Engineer, you will design and implement zero-downtime solutions to maintain exceptional service availability while managing disaster recovery across regional datacenters. You'll participate in on-call rotation every 8 to 9 weeks using Linux, AWS, and automation tools for troubleshooting and CI/CD implementation. About the Team
We are a dynamic infrastructure team at Zoom providing common services used across many Zoom products. Our team focuses on campus areas including notification systems, Zoom file systems, and microservices management, with opportunities to grow into managing large clusters. We work with cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka while tackling challenges in cost management and supporting multiple teams through automation and monitoring.
Responsibilities:
Designing and implementing zero-downtime to accomplish highly available service (99.99%)
Designing and implementing disaster recovery (DR) between different region Datacenters
Troubleshooting complex production issues, including performance and function issues
Cooperating with cloud vendor and infrastructure, engineering team for security and service availability
Providing deep level of outage troubleshooting for systems and Zoom backend service
Providing the CI/CD model to deploy and configure the production system
What we're looking for:
Have a BS degree in related field (MS ideal) with demonstrated experience in system monitoring tools
Have 5+ years experience in DevOps/SRE role with in-depth knowledge of Linux systems (RedHat, CentOS, Debian)
Have deep understanding of GitOps principles and familiarity with version control platforms like GitHub or GitLab, complemented by solid scripting experience in Bash or Python
Have comprehensive AWS technology expertise including Elastic Search, Elastic Cache, DynamoDB, SQS and S3
Have working knowledge of infrastructure automation tools including Ansible and Jenkins, with experience in production deployment and troubleshooting of systems like Nginx and ETCD
Have extensive analytical and troubleshooting skills combined with excellent communication abilities and production on-call support experience
Have experience with ELK, Kubernetes and Chat or Instant Messaging - XMPP is nice to have
Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$87,600.00Maximum:
$186,000.00In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
