DevOps Engineer role is key to Gore DevOps Center of Excellence. This role would help Gore to manage the application deployments ,infrastructure inhouse and will play a key role in rollout of industry standards across all Gore’s DevOps tools and pipelines.

What will you do?

 Manage and Maintain Cloud applications and Infrastructure

  • Manage application deployments using Jenkins, AWS, and Azure pipelines.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to the application, infrastructure, or deployment pipelines.
  • Implement best practices to develop backup and recovery techniques for applications on AWS and Azure platform.
  • Supporting and maintaining AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Containers and clustering technologies (Kubernetes, Docker and OpenShift)
  • Source control and build/dependency management systems (Jenkins, TeamCity, Bitbucket and Maven)
  • Understanding of application performance, security, and infrastructure fundamentals
  • Experience with monitoring technologies, as well as hands on experience instrumenting alerts.
  • Identify and implement performance monitoring and alerting solutions.

Application and Infrastructure building

  • Build, implement and manage environment solutions for Gore applications across Azure and AWS.
  • Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Contributing to the design of application and systems
  • Follow Gore release management processes and standards.
  • Work with vendor DevOps team to build/migrate Gore’s CI/CD pipelines.

Automation and supporting Gore’s cloud journey

  • Identify and leverage appropriate tools for automating manual and routine tasks.
  • Building and supporting high availability solution and platforms
  • Monitor emerging technologies and cloud provider options in the market and provide inputs to improve Gore cloud presence.

Release and Deployment support

  • Support production releases.
  • Internal and vendor patching support.
  • Support Infrastructure maintenance activities.

 What will you need to succeed in this role?

  • An undergraduate degree in Information Technology and certifications in AWS and Azure will be an asset.
  • More than 5 years of experience in cloud technologies with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Configuration management experience
  • Experience in the creation of DevOps process, governance, and compliance highlighting the benefits of DevOps to other technology teams and helping drive adoption to increase DevOps maturity.
  • Prior experience representing DevOps at the CAB and other technical meetings.
  • Understanding of application performance, security, and infrastructure fundamentals
  • Source control and build/dependency management systems (Jenkins, TeamCity, Bitbucket and Maven)
  • Exposure to Containers and clustering technologies (Kubernetes, Docker and OpenShift), Relational and non-relational databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Kafka, MySQL, Oracle DB)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as a code (IaC) (Terraform and CloudFormation),ELK Stack including ElasticSearch, LogStash and Kibana
  • Monitoring and Logging tools with strong scripting skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new platforms, languages, tools, and techniques as needed.
  • Guidewire and InsurCloud knowledge will be an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
