Conduct electrical measurements of semiconductor devices at cryogenic temperatures, assist in system development, analyze results, and communicate findings.
Essential Duties:
Conduct electrical measurements of semiconductor quantum-effect devices at cryogenic temperatures. Requires good scientific communication skills, a strong work ethic, enjoyment of problem solving, and a natural scientific curiosity.
Assist in electrical measurement system development
Use cryogenic test systems; develop software for device testing; analyze samples using automated data acquisition equipment Organize, update, and summarize measurement results. Requires frequent technical communication with team members, including oral and written reporting.
Required Skills:
Basic principles of low-noise, electrical measurement
Basic electronic circuit design and analysis
Basics of scientific programming and/or software development
Familiarity with Python preferred, though specific language not too important
Standard computer skills (spreadsheets, presentations, and word processing)
Statistical data analysis
Basic semiconductor device physics and quantum mechanics understanding
Use of cryogenic test equipment
Required Education:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment.
Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment.
Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $99,705 - $124,683 + bonus + benefits.
