The Development Coordinator will be based in Southern California and this is a hybrid position that requires periodic work days at

CORE’s HQ office in Los Angeles. This position offers an hourly rate of $28-$30.00, based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • The Development Coordinator will play a key role in CORE’s growth as we expand our national fundraising strategy. We're seeking a candidate who is visionary, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment to support an international development strategy. This role will involve close collaboration with the leadership team and external partners to produce impactful events that further CORE’s mission and financial goals.
  • As a valued member of the Development Department, the Development Coordinator will contribute directly to supporting frontline fundraising efforts, developing and executing events that support a $12M+ department, with significant growth anticipated in the next three years.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    Database Administration & Operations Support

  • Manage daily donation activity, including online and offline giving. Ensuring that all gifts are correctly coded and credited to the appropriate constituent.
  • Oversee the CORE Development inbox to ensure donors questions and requests are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Under the supervision of the Director of Advancement, oversee the maintenance of CORE’s CRM database of research, outreach, proposals, gift agreements, and estate documents.
  • Day-to-day activities may include drafting and sending acknowledgement letters to donors, updating internal and external databases and registries, and data entry into
  • CORE’s internal CRM software

  • Perform database administrative tasks such as updating contact records, preparing acknowledgement letters, and donation receipts
  • Track progress on development revenue lines and asks related to CORE’s programs, activities, and strategic goals. Work with the Finance team to coordinate and track all donations anticipated and received.
  • Fosters collaboration and communication within the department and cross-functional teams within the organization to ensure that that fundraising initiatives are clear and there is a shared understanding of our programmatic vision.
  • Prospect Research & Management

  • Support our Advancement Team in qualifying prospects, portfolio assignments, metric setting, donor cultivation, and stewardship plans.
  • Establish, nurture, and manage relationships with high-level VIPs, donors, talent, and influencers, ensuring strong, lasting connections that advance CORE’s mission and fundraising goals.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with new and existing corporate partners to strengthen CORE’s corporate giving program and expand fundraising efforts.
  • Special Events & Corporate Partnerships

  • Handle a variety of administrative tasks including managing phone communication, scheduling meetings with internal and external stakeholders, arranging travel, preparing expense reports, and drafting correspondence for internal and external partners.
  • Organize domestic and international travel arrangements for the executive team and talent, including flights, accommodations, and ground transportation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings with external stakeholders (both in-person and virtual), prepare meeting agendas, and follow up on action items.
  • Assist the VP of Development in special projects and initiatives related to emergency response efforts, including corporate engagement strategies, in-kind donations, and special events with prospective donors.
  • Travel to select events to provide on-site support and management, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with fundraising goals.
  • Additional responsibilities and duties as necessary or as requested by the Vice President of Development.

Scope and Travel:

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s (required), Master’s degree in business administration, business development, nonprofit management and development, client service, account management or related field, (preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of administrative and office management experience
  • Strong attention to detail and have excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Creative and energetic thinker with a passion for giving back
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills; ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey information with accuracy and diplomacy; strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience in building authentic relationships and the ability
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite. Experience in a CRM software preferred, especially Salesforce or Raisers Edge, as well as a demonstrated ability to learn technology and systems quickly

Skills and Competencies:

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment to resolve issues.
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
