Serve as Parasail's public technical voice: engage developer communities, create tutorials and demos, moderate and grow Discord, represent the company at events, build OSS partnerships, gather product feedback, and measure engagement to shape product and docs.
The summary above was generated by AI

Parasail is redefining AI infrastructure by enabling seamless deployment across a distributed network of GPUs, optimizing for cost, performance, and flexibility. Our mission is to empower AI developers with a fast, cost-efficient, and scalable cloud experience—free from vendor lock-in and designed for the next generation of AI workloads.

The Developer Evangelist and Community Advocate will be Parasail’s public technical voice and community catalyst, meeting developers where they are, online and in person. From answering deep-dive questions about model inference on r/LocalLLaMA to demoing live at AI model meetups, you’ll translate complex GPU-hosting concepts into clear, actionable guidance. Your feedback loop with engineering will ensure our platform evolves with real-world needs, while your outreach will grow a vibrant ecosystem around Parasail.

What You’ll Do
  • Spot & join the conversation – Actively monitor targeted subreddits, Hacker News threads, Discord servers, and other channels; jump in with helpful, technically sound answers (and tactful Parasail mentions where appropriate).
  • Create high-impact content – Draft tutorials, sample repos, blog posts, and short videos that demystify model deployment, cost tuning, and distributed inference on GPUs.
  • Cultivate our Discord – Moderate, answer questions, and spark discussions; run AMAs and office hours with our engineers.
  • Be on the ground – Represent Parasail at meetups, hackathons, and conferences; give talks, staff booths, and gather use-case intel.
  • Build alliances – Form relationships with maintainers of leading OSS AI projects and influential community moderators; explore co-marketing or integration opportunities.
  • Channel insights back – Synthesize community feedback and surface common pain points, shaping our product roadmap and documentation.
  • Measure & grow – Track engagement metrics (Discord activity, GitHub stars, referral traffic, etc.) to iterate and expand our reach.
Who You Are
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • 3–7 years in developer advocacy, solutions engineering, or a similarly outward-facing technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with GPU/ML inference workflows (Kubernetes or similar a plus).
  • Proven online presence: you’ve participated responsively and respectfully on Reddit, Hacker News, Twitter/X, or Discord for a technical brand or OSS project.
  • Comfortable speaking on stage, writing long-form posts, and distilling advanced topics for audiences ranging from CTOs to hobbyists.
  • Active in multiple online AI communities
  • Self-starter who can juggle multiple channels, prioritize community questions, and thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
Nice to Have
  • Having Run Hackathons
  • 2-5 background in coding (Java, Python, C++, Go, etc)
  • Track record of conference speaking or workshop facilitation.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (Orbit, Common Room, Google Analytics) to quantify community health.
  • Used AI Tools to advance community outreach
  • Connections in the open-source AI / MLOps ecosystem.
Why Join Parasail

This is a chance to shape the conversation around next-gen AI infrastructure and own Parasail’s community strategy from day one. You’ll collaborate directly with our CEO and engineering leads, influence the product through real-time user insights, and build a worldwide network of developers who rely on Parasail to power their most ambitious workloads. As one of our early hires, your impact will be visible not only in our growth metrics but in the culture and voice of the company itself.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
