Our growing global Consumer Products team brings our members' favorite stories to real life through products and experiences. The team is responsible for overseeing the business and creative execution across merchandise creation, product development, licensee relationships, publishing, marketing, as well as a global division focused on live experiences.

This Designer of Softlines Product Development role will be responsible for driving the USA and Canada product design and development for fashion and accessories product categories for all age demos, from concept through to production across multiple Netflix IP.

What you will do: 

  • Contribute product trends, product strategies and product design & development for all softlines categories across mass and specialty retailers as well as  direct-to-consumer and halo fashion brands, including but not exclusively - mens, womens, juniors, kids and infants - building partnerships with licensees, brands, and retailers, as well as internal CP teams and partners across the organization.

  • Manage product development from creative vision and kickoff with partners, through to retail launch, ensuring the assortments are well designed and merchandised and that there is proper differentiation across retail, globally.

  • Align closely with the product development and creative teams as well as cross-functional partners on all deliverables for product development and packaging.

  • Work closely with the Manager in driving/influencing the creative translation/extension of our titles into softlines consumer products, with an exceptional eye for innovative, market relevant, and  fashion-forward trend while ensuring alignment back to the property.

  • Lead and guide licensees, retailers and brands on how to translate our titles into successful products for all Netflix properties for which merchandise will be developed.

  • Develop creative product development tools and guidelines that help to inspire and drive new and elevated ways of developing products and bringing products into the market.

  • Help drive efficiencies in how we partner with retailers, licensees and brands, with a focus on speed to market.

What we need from you:

  • Demonstrated, 5+ years of experience in softlines consumer products design and product development - with a knowledge of both vertical and licensed product design and an emphasis on fashion trend expertise.

  • Demonstrated capacity to manage high-volume product development projects with creativity and enthusiasm.

  • Exceptionally strong fashion trending capabilities and ability to innovate.

  • Experience leading and developing mass and specialty retail products, as well as experience with DTR partnerships.

  • Passionate about fashion and how to translate entertainment into fun and innovative products at all price points.

  • Strong leadership abilities but also hands-on creative powerhouse.


Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $70,000-$200,000
