The Designer for Men's Knits will create seasonal products, oversee development, engage in trend analysis, and mentor assistance while collaborating with various teams.

Designer, Men's Knits
Salary Range: $80k-$90k
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Conceptualize and create compelling, brand right product for all Seasonal Deliveries
- Engage in all aspects of design such as sketching, swatch and quality development, and fitting from Development through to Production
- Work closely with manager and cross-functional teams to build brand right product that supports Vince’s financial and merchandising strategies
- Identify key seasonal trends and drive all corresponding development with oversees vendors
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with cross functional partners as needed
- Engage with Tech Design and Production on fit intent and execute fit consistency
- Shop the market to perform competitive analysis and translate market trends
- Participate in mentoring Design Assistant
- Line sheet development
- Follow up and coordinate all ongoing projects to meet stated deadlines
- Performs additional duties and assignments, as requested
Qualifications/Experience We’re Looking For:
- 4-6 years of experience in Design
- Have a college degree in Design
- Entrepreneurial attitude to design
- Must have contemporary experience and have worked in a fast-paced environment
- Must have well rounded knowledge of fabrication, construction and mills
- Strong hand sketching and computer sketching skills, with a superior understanding of proportion
- Understanding of contemporary market and competitive set
- Excellent understanding of business strategy and able to apply to the brand’s vision elevating and innovating the brand’s aesthetic
- Ability to present your category’s point of view based on findings from business partners in Merchandising, Sales and market research
- Experience in creating technical packages that include front and back view of sketches as well as detail sketches and BOM
- Ability to work within Airtable
- Proficiency in Adobe, Illustrator, In-Design and Photoshop
- Presentation skills to present to cross functional partners
- Availability to travel to NY periodically
- Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change
