JOB TITLE: Designer, Brand & Marketing

LOCATION: Remote (US)

THE ROLE:

Splice's Brand Marketing team is looking for a Designer who ships strong creative work fast and owns it end to end, bringing the brand to life across ads, product campaigns, social media, and lifecycle marketing, while partnering with the Design Lead on larger initiatives across Splice's growing ecosystem of music tools.

The ideal candidate thrives in startup-style environments. They're comfortable working without a large design org around them day to day and making smart calls on their own. They iterate rapidly to produce experimental, of-the-moment work that stays true to Splice's visual brand and values while remaining flexible to change. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Art Direction.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Create marketing visuals that are a vibrant expression of the brand while driving growth and retention, including paid ads, landing pages, social graphics, lifecycle campaigns, and event graphics that communicate our constantly evolving ecosystem of products and features.
  • Support new and emerging products as they grow, bringing a startup mindset to early-stage work alongside our core brand projects.
  • Design brand-led content and storytelling projects, including web experiences, video graphics, and social-first franchises that celebrate the people and stories at the heart of Splice—bringing an experimental, culturally current point of view to every project.
  • Understand and correctly apply the Splice identity and brand system across all projects, and help other team members do the same.
  • Partner with the Design Lead on larger brand and marketing initiatives across Splice's growing ecosystem of samples and music tools.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Content teams to produce high-quality, on-brand work quickly and efficiently.
  • Own projects end to end, moving quickly from concept to launch, then measuring, learning, and iterating based on results and stakeholder feedback.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3–5+ years of design experience, ideally including time at a startup or on a small team
  • Skilled at adapting design systems across desktop, mobile, and print.
  • Fluent in working within an established brand system, with experience extending or building new brand identities.
  • Experience collaborating with other designers, photographers, and creatives.
  • Sharp eye for detail and a direct communicator who speaks up in reviews.
  • Ability to work on multiple fast-moving projects at once.
  • Comfortable storyboarding, wireframing, and sketching ideas to effectively communicate your concepts to your collaborators.
  • Fluency in music or creator culture, whether that's using these tools, following the space, or making things in it yourself.
  • Collaborative and open to feedback, equally comfortable working independently, and able to build strong relationships with partners across departments.
  • Enjoys contributing to brainstorming sessions and participating in constructive design critiques.
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Experience using AI tools to streamline repetitive tasks and speed up production, freeing up more time for creative work.

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Experience with motion design and editorial illustration.
  • Other creative skills worth knowing about: web design, photography, illustration, or similar.

SPLICE BENEFITS:

  • Compensation & Equity: Competitive pay with annual reviews and equity opportunities.
  • Time Off: Unlimited PTO to recharge and thrive.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents.
  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with immediate vesting and company match.
  • Parental Support: 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for non-birthing parents, and 18-20 weeks for birthing parents.
  • Flexible Work Options: Work remotely or connect at our office hubs and creative spaces worldwide.
  • Professional Growth: Annual learning budget, leadership programs, and team ambassador opportunities.
  • Community & Connection: Inclusive events, team meet-ups, and vibrant Employee Resource Groups.

The national pay range for this role is $90,640 - $113,300. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
