WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
City National is an agile environment with a user-centered design process. Here you will collaborate with UX Designers, UX Researchers, Product Owners, and Developers on multi-device experiences for mobile and desktop banking-working on large projects as well as ongoing maintenance.
As the Design Operations Lead, reporting to the SVP, Head of User-Centered Design, you will be responsible for improving the experience of all the members of the Digital Experience Design team and our partners. You will lead the development and evolution of standards, frameworks, and partnerships to increase the collaboration and alignment with Product, Business, and Research groups. As a member of the DXD leadership team, you will also be a champion and key contributor of our Human-Centered Design transformation by helping partners and practitioners adopt Design thinking mindsets, methods, and skills across the organization.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Utilize strong project management skills to track, communicate status, and deliver digital projects on time
- Collaborate closely with Product leaders, Scrum Masters, Digital Managers, Designers, Researchers, and Developers to deliver best-in-class experiences for our clients
- Develop and maintain operational processes, frameworks, and tools
- Facilitate Design Thinking sessions when necessary, especially during the intake and problem framing phases
- As a member of the Digital Experience Design leadership group, you will have the opportunity to elevate our standards and new ways of working.
- Collaborate closely with Business stakeholders, Product leaders, Scrum Masters, Digital Managers, Designers, Researchers, and IT Architects to deliver best-in-class experiences for our clients
- Be a thought leader inside and outside the organization in the areas of content architecture and strategy
- Facilitate Design Thinking sessions to foster a culture of collaboration and inclusion
- Map colleague experiences and design and execute plans to improve them
- Monitor project schedules and change order status
- Evaluate personnel needs versus project demands
- Promote teamwork, internal communication, and a positive work atmosphere
- Monitor project/work performance and productivity
- Develop strong communication with internal and external project teams
- Manage assigned project schedules and timelines
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must-Have*
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 7 years' experience leading creative projects, application redesigns, or interactive projects
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in User Experience Design and/or Human Computer Interaction
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience conducting user tests, Face-to-face interviews and Field research
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience with iOS styles, standards, and methodologies; User Centered Design (UCD) process
- Minimum of 3+ years coordination resources, people or projects
Skills and Knowledge
- Team player with strong cross-functional and communication skills
- Independent strategic thinker who can help build processes and act as an advisor to teams
- Proficiency with digital platforms and applications (Confluence and Jira expertise)
- Excellent empathetic and interpersonal skills
- Service Design experience is a plus (but not required)
- Experience in Finance Industry is a plus (but not required)
