Role

MatchCraft is looking for a UX Designer to help improve our products and make a lasting impact by identifying opportunities, specifying solutions, and bringing new features to life. 

This role's toolkit typically draws from a range of disciplines including User Experience / Interaction Design, Service Design, Visual Design, Cognitive Psychology, and Product Management.

The successful candidate for this position must be curious, flexible, comfortable with ambiguity, and enjoy problem solving.

Specifically, the person in this position will:

  • Uncover the needs, objectives, and constraints of clients, vendors, internal stakeholders, and merchants
  • Analyze user experience, system use, and platform performance to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Create design artifacts (wireframes, process flows, specifications, etc.) that specify workflows, system behaviors, and user interfaces
  • Validate designs to determine whether planned changes will meet market, client, and user needs
  • Participate in the prioritization and selection of development tasks
  • Collaborate with engineers to solve problems and resolve nuanced implementation and customer adoption issues
  • Present new solutions to internal teams and clients
  • After features and products are built, verify that features achieved design goals
  • Collaborate with others in the development of appropriate rollout materials and product announcements

Requirements

  • Experience in identifying information and data needed to understand a problem and specify a solution
  • Experience in designing software features and products intended to be used for more than 3 years
  • Experience observing the impact of software features and products on users and organizations (e.g. through usability testing, post-rollout feedback, key performance indicator tracking, etc.)
  • Ability to understand and discuss cost-benefit tradeoffs as they relate to design choices
  • Experience working with clients, engineers, and other functional groups to define problems
  • Experience working with software developers on the implementation of designs
  • Thorough understanding of interaction design principles, either from formal education or professional practice
  • Proficiency with software tools used to specify and communicate solutions (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Balsamiq, InVision, Visio, etc.)
  • Strong aesthetic sense and understanding of information design and data visualization principles is a plus
  • Degree or certificate related to User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Design, Product Management, Computer Science, or a related program is a plus
  • Familiarity with online marketing channels (e.g. search engine marketing, display, social, shopping) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required
