The team is looking for a Textile Print Designer (Freelance) to help! An ideal candidate would possess both artistic style and artistic expertise:

Artistic Style:

This person should have a fun, expressive style. Their portfolio should show a strong spectrum of everything from graphic patterns that are simpler and strong illustrative elements. Their style should not look like a copy of any other style or artist. This person should have a unique “signature” style, while also being flexible when it comes to completing a task asked by merchandising that may not be their natural element. Their color selections should show their ability to be up on latest trends in performance, cotton, loungewear and streetwear. They will also have an opportunity to help create conversational prints on occasion to help the design team if they choose to submit designs. 

Artistic Expertise:

They should have both a strong textile fashion portfolio and a graphic design portfolio. That style and expertise should ideally be visible in their textile print design portfolio but if they don’t have specific examples and need to be taught how to create a repeat textile, that is fine! The ideal candidate will be willing to take feedback and seek the best result for the business instead of protecting their own vision or recognition. A true collaborative artist is a professional artist that can come to work every day and be inspired and ready to create no matter what. This takes practice, and usually you can tell by their portfolio. If they have a lot of self discipline, they will be right for this role. They will be humble, professional and happy to work with such a dream team!

You Have:

• 3+ years experience designing prints and general apparel graphics
• Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in Illustrator, Photoshop, Wacom
• Strong Adobe Illustrator design abilities 
• Knowledge of separation and printing processes for fabric and construction
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
• Exceptional self-management and accountability

You will: 

• Be available approximately 20 hours per week
• Develop and concept thoughtful and fun new graphic style prints under direction of Sr. Designer
• Develop repeats on prints or create placement prints from original art 
• Scale variations of original artwork
• Assist merchants by creating templates for line sheets at the end of each season while also creating designs needed for production like socks, pad prints, etc. 
• Help research seasonal trends and seasonal colorways have a strong sense of upcoming popular culture trends relevant for each collection.
