Role Overview
InStride is looking for a rockstar Senior Brand Designer to join the design and creative team. The ideal candidate is someone who has the ability to utilize their skills across both traditional and digital design and is ready to push themselves. At the end of the day, design is all about how well you can solve a problem, and the preferred candidate is an amazing problem solver. The ideal candidate is obsessed with color, type, and composition, developing strong brand identities that help build meaningful relationships with InStride’s learners, corporate partners and academic partners.
The preferred candidate has experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing a diverse workload, championing the importance of quality brand design within all phases of the creative process, and deeply aligned with the business and social impact of our mission. InStride is based in Los Angeles, CA. This position can be remote. Note: To be considered, you must provide a link to an online portfolio of design samples.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept and design for: Short-form video, logo design, editorial pieces, social, marketing, sales collateral, package design, display ads and experiential marketing
- Lead production of existing concepts to provide complete deliverables, creating style/brand guides and templates where needed
- Develop and frame creative concepts in line with creative briefs
- Work within the greater design team, while partnering with marketing and sales to craft brand campaigns and marketing creative
- Deliver on day-to-day work while proactively seeking opportunities to grow the InStride brand
- You’re as comfortable leading brand workshops with the marketing and sales team as you are art directing a photoshoot
- Balancing multiple brand design tasks at a time is your bread and butter
- Review teammates' work to ensure it aligns to tone, style, brand guidelines, and voice
- Socialize and present brand design solutions and rationale to the team and key stakeholders
- Follow and share brand, advertising and marketing trends and emerging technologies and how they impact brand design solutions
Ideal Profile
- 5+ years of brand design experience (education experience a plus)
- A broad portfolio of work, covering social/marketing communications, video, print, package design, and experiential
- Intimate knowledge of industry tools (especially Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Mastery of design production process from concept to delivery
- A passion for great work with the vision, instincts and tenacity to make it happen
- Strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems, even when they are not fully defined
- Adhering to and developing brand guidelines
- Defining brand design goals and journeys based on corporate partner or learner goals
- Comfortable taking the lead in strategy and messaging discussions with internal marketing and sales teams
- Experience working within diverse, dynamic, cross-functional teams
- Eager to solicit feedback from real users and teammates
- Ability to listen and understand feedback from a diverse set of stakeholders
- Ability to manage many tasks at once and deliver high-quality output every time, on time
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates originality and innovation
- Curiosity, humility, and a passion for doing great work
- Strong sense of ethics, and responsibility in understanding the way the work InStride do influences the world around us (learners, corporate partners, learning partners)
