As a Mid-level UX Product Designer at Ruggable on the Ecommerce team, you will be responsible for helping us REVOLUTIONIZE the way users shop for Rugs. We want to set the standard for the “made-to-order” experience and expect our UX Product Designers to lead the way. The ideal candidate won’t be afraid to push the boundaries of traditional ecommerce UX designs and methods.
Job Summary
Reporting to the UX Product Design Manager within the Ecommerce team, this role will be responsible for producing low and high fidelity wireframes to support the marketing team, corporate, and internal ecomm team projects. Our team is very focused on measuring performance through analytics, A/B testing, and continuously looking for ways to improve conversion by improving even the smallest of features on our website. Keeping a pulse on the data will encourage smart decisions in creating the best user experience as well as design.
What You’ll Do:
- Design wireframes and mockups for mobile & desktop screen resolutions based on best practices, user data/research, A/B testing, and design trends (with a mobile first mentality).
- Help synthesize user research from A/B testing, Google Analytics, and other user-insight tools.
- Work collaboratively with other teams including Acquisition, Retention, Product, Data, Marketing, Creative, and Engineering.
- Gain inspiration through exploring new design trends, themes, best practices, and patterns across all platforms– then determine how and if it should be implemented into the Ruggable experience.
- Always advocate for the user's needs. If there is ever a question or debate, dial it back and review our audience and data.
- QA all of your own designs once they have been developed. No one knows it better than you! Each design is QA’d before going live within the team.
Who You Are:
- First, you are a Designer, and as much as you love to design beautiful and pleasing digital experiences, you are equally driven by creating functional, reasonable, and efficient experiences based on the users’ needs, behaviors, and intuitons.
- You have a toolbox. Whether it be Sketch, Adobe XD, Zeplin, InvisionApp, pen & paper, or all of the above; you know what tool works best for the job at hand, gives you the best efficiency in your work, all the while your process maintains its fluidity.
- You are a problem solver. From projects, to day-to-day processes and operations, you take on problems head on. Finding the best solutions through compromise and communication is something you’re good at.
- You are in tune with Ecommerce, and have a relationship with it. You shop online and have encountered notably poor and notably superb user experiences that have swayed your purchasing decision, and you recognize that. You have no shame in purchases made online because the company had a pleasant UI, and you can recognize that. As much as you despise the popup 10 seconds after landing on a site, you still understand why it converts the best.
What You’ll Need:
- 3-5 years of experience in product design, UI design and/or UX design in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree in fine art, design, interaction design, or related field. Equivalent work experience also accepted.
- Portfolio/work samples with relevant work showcasing user-centered design solutions.
- Understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices, and the importance of enforcing this for a brand.
- Flexibility to adapt with changing timelines and deliverables
- Critical thinking, attention to detail, and integrity
- Additional Skills (not required, but nice to have)
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS
- Photo retouching / manipulation
- Illustration
- Light video editing
Hours and Compensation
- Job Type: Full-time, On-site
- Position will be based out of Gardena, CA
