At Demand.io, our mission is to connect shoppers, influencers and brands to make shopping easier and more rewarding.

We do so through our network of demand-generation shopping apps, platforms and websites that help shoppers make smarter purchasing decisions. We run some of the largest commerce platforms online, reaching over 7 million monthly consumers and driving over $300 million in annual transaction volume.

As a limited partnership, we open limited slots to full-time employees who become profit-sharing co-owners in the firm. As a team, we’re a tight-knit group of technical product and marketing professionals who value sound design principles, strong engineering, and a substance-over-style philosophy to creating products that make a positive difference in people’s lives.

As our Lead Product Designer, you’ll be our in-house voice and lead for design. You’ll work closely alongside our CEO and technical team to develop, prototype and iterate product concepts across the social shopping arena.

What your first 90 days may look like

You’ll conduct a comprehensive UX study of the Dealspotr Marketplace, our leading influencer marketing platform serving thousands of top retailers and micro-influencers. You’ll identify gaps in the user experience and create a design plan to overhaul the site, which we’re moving to a new brand called Fave.ly. Your plan will include research, user testing, site and flow mapping, prototyping, and wireframes and mockups.

You’ll collaborate with our CEO to design a new gamification system for Knoji, our social reviews platform. You’ll analyze usage data, interview current users, build personas, and create prototypes and designs based on our business and product objectives.

You’ll create a design plan for SimplyCodes, a crowdsourcing platform still in beta which offers shoppers the best discount search tool online. We’re planning a public launch in Q3 2020.

You’ll also keep abreast of the latest trends in design, retail & online shopping, social media, and device technology and participate in our daily group ideations and brainstorms to identify areas of opportunity for future product development.

About you

You’re more than just a designer, you’re a creative leader. You’re wicked smart, usually called a rock star wherever you go - you live and breathe your work (because really, it’s play).

You take accountability for your work. You design because your work can have a direct impact on the lives of real people.

You have a solid grounding in UX design, as well as a strong eye for aesthetics and visual design.

You can create prototypes, flows and wireframes, and can do mockups and visuals when needed. You understand research, data and how to construct questions and conduct interviews.

You’re a creative type with the analytical ability to think think through solutions to real world business problems.

You’re comfortable in a media lab startup environment where you’ll be working on multiple projects serving very different users where you’ll be prototyping, testing, iterating and pivoting continuously.

You’re technical. You can code CSS and maybe even Javascript if necessary. You get the importance of being technical and diving in.

You’re a great communicator and collaborator. You're a proactive do-er who gets things done. You create energy.

What our interview process is like

You’ll meet (virtually, for now) with our CEO and team leads. In addition to Q&A, we’ll run through a series of design tests and problem solving scenarios. Our goal will be to gauge your ability to solve challenging problems and develop effective design solutions quickly.

Once employed with us, you become eligible for incorporation into our Partner equity and profit-sharing program after six months of employment, based on performance.

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Stock options
  • Profit-sharing bonus
  • Full health, dental, vision coverage
  • 401K
  • Flexible work schedule. Unlimited PTO.
  • We're remote now, but when conditions allow, we also have an open office with great view, fully stocked kitchen. We also do team dinners, lunches, and team building events.
