The Opportunity

As our Lead Product Designer, you will play a pivotal role building a multi-sided platform that connects all the parties involved in moving cargo freight around the world. Our platform helps importers, exporters, freight forwarding agents, ocean carriers, truckers, custom brokers and others collaborate locally and across the globe. 

Your role will be as our lead full-stack product designer and will work closely with our product and engineering leads. Your responsibilities will include product discovery, design strategy, wireframing, user journey mapping, service design, iterative prototyping, user research, user testing, and visual design. We balance a user-centric approach with a holistic understanding of how the end-to-end system must perform to solve design challenges and growth objectives.

On a day-to-day basis as a Lead Product Designer you will:

• Work through design problems from beginning to end: translating research insight into ideas, and both lo-fi and hi-fi prototypes 
• Collaborate closely with engineers to assess feasibility of ideas, implement your designs to spec and ship great products efficiently
• Sketch and prototype ideas to test viability and quickly experiment with interactions and define transitions
• Solve and communicate problems at low fidelity, then propose a highly-polished solution with little delay
• Solicit feedback from your peers, including other product designers and teammates in your product team
• Design the fine-grained details of interactions
• Own the success or failure of your design work and initiate design and engineering sprints to improve shipped work
• Work in close collaboration with company leadership to inform and improve our platform and processes.

We would love to hear from you if you:

• Have a strong interest in business, markets, product, and an enthusiasm in using that interest to generate ideas for growth opportunities
• Have experience designing web applications, systems, and experiences that people can access on any type of device, desktop, tablet, phone — ideally within a B2B company
• You ideally have a deep understanding of business-to-business (B2B) user personas and how that translates into relevant UI components.
• An excellent communicator who can work well with clients and diverse teams with an ability to clearly communicate product strategy, design rationale and conceptual ideas
• Proficiency with Figma, prototyping & developer handoff tools.
• A portfolio of top-notch product work that demonstrates strong design and UX skills
• Experience using data to inform design and product decisions
• Have experience with Material Design specifications
• Talent in creating and maintaining complex design systems
• Ideally have a minimum of 5 years experience working in software Product Design
