Job Summary:

Ruggable is seeking a passionate, talented and experienced Director of Textile Design to join our growing team. As a key member of our design leadership team, you will be responsible for helping to maintain a strong culture based on creative excellence and achievement of strategic objectives.  We are looking for expertise in textile design and development for home goods , focused on but not limited to Rugs. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of building up our design capability in non-printed products. 

This role is based in our LA Design + Product Studio with a hybrid schedule (office/remote). 


What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a team of designers  responsible for Seasonal & Core product that aligns with the Ruggable Design Roadmap and Brand Vision 
  • Collaborate with the VP of Design to develop a robust portfolio of products for the home that enhance our brand aesthetic and customer appeal
  • Work closely with our Product + Leadership team to assess new opportunities 
  • Create visually compelling mood boards to inspire new products 
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure design consistency and alignment with brand standards
  • Work closely with Design + PD team to build relationships, develop unique rug collections, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Oversee the creation of production-ready textile design files and assess strike-offs for color and design accuracy
  • Manage project timelines, prioritize tasks, identify potential risks, and communicate project updates effectively
  • Provide strategic guidance and project management for both short-term and long-term design initiatives

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Design or a related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in a senior design role, preferably within the home furnishings or textile industry
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite
  • Experience leading, motivating and mentoring high performance teams 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven track record of leading design projects from initial concept to completion 
  • Ability to work independently and proactively to overcome obstacles
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Strong interest in home and textile design, particularly rug design
  • Textile Expertise in a variety of constructions including but not limited to Woven, Knitted and Embroidered.

Compensation:

  • $150,000 - $160,000 per year base salary
  • An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
  • Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
