The Company
Metropolis is an artificial intelligence company that uses computer vision technology to enable frictionless, checkout-free experiences in the real world. Today, we are reimagining parking to enable millions of consumers to just "drive in and drive out." We envision a future where people transact in the real world with a speed, ease and convenience that is unparalleled, even online. Tomorrow, we will power checkout-free experiences anywhere you go to make the everyday experiences of living, working and playing remarkable - giving us back our most valuable asset, time.

The Role
We are seeking a Deployment Project Manager with a knack for wrangling complex projects and a passion for customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be the keystone for deploying our cutting-edge technology to clients. As a Technical Project Manager, you'll be responsible for end-to-end project oversight, from creating detailed implementation plans to managing budgets and schedules. You'll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure our projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality. This position requires someone who can seamlessly manage shifting priorities, anticipate potential issues, and navigate complex dependencies to ensure every deployment is a success.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including implementation plans, design documents, budgets, and status reports.
  • Oversee and manage the change control process to ensure all project scopes remain aligned with business and client goals.
  • Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact for all project-related needs.
  • Proactively identify potential project issues and risks, then develop and execute strategic contingency plans to keep things on track.
  • Manage the planning, scheduling, and tracking of inventory delivery to ensure all necessary components arrive at customer sites on time.
  • Coordinate on-site third-party resources and installers, ensuring they have the tools and information they need to succeed.
  • Conduct regular status calls and provide clear, concise project updates to all internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • PMP or other relevant project management certifications/experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage, electrical, and civil infrastructure projects, particularly as they relate to managing third-party suppliers and installers.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to adapt to shifting project demands and timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with a talent for presenting complex information clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • A true team player with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to collaborate effectively to solve problems.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, decision-making, and process management skills.

When you join Metropolis, you’ll join a team of world-class product leaders and engineers, building an ecosystem of technologies at the intersection of parking, mobility, and real estate. Our goal is to build an inclusive culture where everyone has a voice and the best idea wins. You will play a key role in building and maintaining this culture as our organization grows. The anticipated base salary for this position is $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans and more.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
