Job Description:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage a significant case load
- Draft and file pleadings, and other miscellaneous notices, documents, etc. with the court
- Track cases with upcoming statutes of limitations
- Track service of process
- Review court documents
- Attend court hearings as needed
- Review all possible information, evidence and documentation, including medical records and bills, loss of earnings documentation and change in lifestyle information, that will help the legal department build a case
- Sort and read through medical records, insurance correspondence, and settlement releases on behalf of clients
- Collaborate with multiple departments including Case Management, Demands, and Liens
- Maintain communication with clients to guide them through the filing of their lawsuit and the settlement process
Requirements:
- Candidate has a JD and is admitted to the California bar
- 1-2 years of experience in Personal Injury preferred
- Very well organized
- Good follow-up
- Strong communication skills
- Spanish speaking, a plus
