In This Role

In this role, you will partner closely with Demand and Supply Planning teams to drive weekly supportability reviews for key hardware devices. You will analyze week‑over‑week changes in demand and supply, validate planning data, and ensure accurate supportability assessments. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication, and the ability to identify issues, influence cross‑functional partners, and drive actions to closure. You will work with large datasets, planning systems, and BI tools to improve reporting, enhance data accuracy, and support ongoing process and tooling improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Connect with Demand and Supply Planning teams at the start of each week to initiate supportability reviews for designated network devices.
  • Analyze changes between the previous and current week’s demand, supply, and inventory positions, generating detailed and accurate reports.
  • Review and validate all data snapshots across systems to identify discrepancies, investigate inconsistencies, and ensure data integrity.
  • Manage, track, and close out action items from previous weekly cycles.
  • Drive alignment across cross‑functional teams regarding weekly changes, risks, and supportability outcomes.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and analytical tools using Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Utilize planning and ERP systems to extract data, validate demand and supply signals, and support decision‑making.
  • Support continuous improvement activities including tool optimization, data quality enhancements, and reporting efficiency improvements.
  • Clearly communicate insights, risks, and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or a related field and 7+ years of experience in supply planning, operations, supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing, or related disciplines
    OR
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, modeling, data manipulation).
  • SQL querying experience, including ability to extract and validate large datasets.
  • Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau for dashboarding and analytics.
  • Strong analytical and data‑driven problem‑solving skills with the ability to work with large, complex datasets.

Planning Experience

  • Hands‑on demand planning experience where the candidate has personally created demand plans (not just reviewed or supported).
  • Experience with short‑term or mid‑term planning horizons (S&OP / SNOE).
  • Proven experience building demand forecasts and managing demand signals end‑to‑end.
  • Solid understanding of how forecasts are created, adjusted, and refined over time.
  • Strong knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and how dependent demand flows from parent‑level demand.
  • Experience applying BOM/dependent demand concepts in real-world planning scenarios.
  • Experience using ERP or planning systems. SAP experience is a plus, but any planning ERP is acceptable for candidates who understand planning logic.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication with the ability to influence both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Self‑starter with a “can‑do” attitude and strong ownership mentality.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in technology‑related supply chains, indirect supply planning, or hardware supportability roles.
  • Familiarity with Kusto Query Language (KQL).
  • Experience improving planning tools, reporting workflows, or data quality processes.
  • Prior involvement in weekly or cyclical demand/supply supportability reviews.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
