The Demand Planner is responsible for demand forecasting and business analysis activities. This person serves as a link between the sales, finance, and supply chain functions to ensure alignment between plans and will work to create and achieve consensus for forecasts through collaborative cross-functional planning processes.
WHAT YOU DO
- Supporting Demand Planning & Data Analytics team including:
- Creating and managing top-down and bottom-up finished goods wholesale and retail forecasts
- Lead regional forecast reviews with international and domestic commercial teams
- Lead forecasting process for HOURGLASS’ new product development, sampling, and gratis
- Support team members in training and development
- Compiling monthly SKU-level global forecasts by retailer and region including:
- Work alongside local market teams to analyze retailer and product performance trends and variances to forecast
- Proactively work with operations and supply chain teams to identify and close inventory gaps when forecasts are overachieved; mitigate overstock risk
- Synthesizing and analyzing data from various sources across retail sales, wholesale, and operational data
- Identifying and initiating action in response to trends/issues
- Technology including:
- Subject matter expert for Oracle Planning Cloud Demand Planning Tool at Hourglass
- Partnering with Unilever Prestige IT and external partners for upgrades and maintenance to Planning Tool as needed
- Evaluating and creating processes and tools in support of continuous improvement efforts to support demand planning at Hourglass
- Performing analysis and reporting including:
- Leading in the creation of new product forecasts and their contribution to the product categories
- Preparing, maintaining and publishing reporting to monitor and assess performance and trend
- Updating, recapping, analyze, and report to relevant stakeholders sales results, such as weekly retail sales, retail sales by SKU, mix of business, best sellers, and new product performance
- Producing and analyzing ad-hoc and/or ongoing reporting as needed
- Coordinating, tracking, and communicating both allocations and gratis requests to support inventory merchandise strategy for newness, events, and promotions
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in demand planning or merchandise planning, retail or CPG experience preferred
- Strong Excel and analytical skills required; PowerBI and Oracle Planning Cloud experience preferred
- Must be highly organized and have strong attention to detail
- Passion for product, specifically cosmetics and skincare
- Proven success creating and leading processes and teams
- Thrive on solving problems and looking at implementing creative solutions
- Creative, positive and high-energy individual with an ability to execute
- Must be able to work from Corporate Office at least 60% of the time.
The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 -$95,000.00. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
