We are looking for a Tech Lead Manager to lead the new ProducePay Data team. ProducePay ingests data from customer ERP systems, the USDA, our own applications, and a variety of other sources. We face challenges not only in processing and displaying large quantities of data, but also normalizing data across all of the different sources so that we can provide added value on top of it. As Tech Lead Manager, you will be providing technical leadership and managing the engineers on the data team. You will be working in a cross functional team, with a Product Manager and Data Scientists who are all working to leverage ProducePay's data to help our growers and distributors.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Work with the PM to pick priorities, plan out the week, and assign work to reports. You aren’t just doing what the PM says, but instead you are working with them to accomplish a shared goal.
• Create and review tech designs for large features. You are responsible for the technical architecture of the system you are building (with guidance and support from platform engineers).
• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality. We use code reviews as an opportunity to teach, learn, and maintain code quality. Conducting thorough reviews is an important part of leading a tech team.
• Write code when the team needs an extra productivity boost.
• Manage 1 - 5 engineers. We believe strongly in creating a culture of mentorship and growth within ProducePay. As a TLM you will need to conduct 1:1’s and help encourage and facilitate technical growth within your team.
• Have a hands-on attitude. While it’s important to delegate work to your reports, it’s also important to be willing to jump in and solve a problem or handle a crisis
• Work with the other engineering teams to provide services that they can use within their products.
• Work with the Data Science team to develop and deploy Machine Learning models to production.

Requirements

• Experience working with large amounts of data (100 million+ data points)
• Experience developing workflows for normalizing and aggregating data from different sources
• Experience shipping production-quality software for 5+ years.
• Willingness to dive in and learn about how to manage and lead teams of engineers
