Overview
Responsible for providing senior-level support to the Default Reporting team and management. The Senior Analyst performs quality assurance/control reviews of the work of other analysts on the team. The position also involves attending and presenting information in meetings, including meetings with senior level and executive managers. The Senior Analyst assists the team by assigning workflow to other analysts and reporting back on results to management. Support is also provided by serving as a backup for other analysts when needed. The Senior Default Reporting Analyst may provide additional analytical support to the lines of business within the Default Servicing division.

Job Description

  • Refresh daily trial/exception reports and resolve loan-level issues to ensure accurate default reporting. Engage with partners in Default lines of business to resolve process-level impediments to accurate reporting.
  • Review error reports provided after each monthly transmission and correct/resolve errors within prescribed timeframes.
  • Research and respond to investor requests for information or changes to reporting.
  • Research and respond to internal and external audit requests, where required.
  • Provide analytical and data support to the Default Reporting team.
  • Provide support for the service transfer process through creation of data dashboards, triage checklists, and Word Search analysis.
  • Monitor key loan modification process milestones and requests for foreclosure holds, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (i.e., CFPB, HUD, etc.).
  • Monitor adherence to first legal deadlines on FHA loans, ensuring that manual extension requests are made by the line of business, where applicable.
  • Reconcile fees and costs after the completion of loan modifications and perform other loan-level reconciliations when needed for trend analysis and process improvement initiatives.
  • Reconcile fees and costs for loans scheduled for service release from PennyMac to new servicers.
  • Enhance and create trial/exception reports and databases.
  • Provide data queries and analytical support to the Default Reporting team and team management.
  • Act as backup for other analysts on the team, including support for the following processes: delinquency status reporting to the investors, FLDD and compliance monitoring, loan modification fee reconciliation.
  • Support the Default Reporting management team through reporting; overseeing projects; training and mentoring new employees; and keeping policies and procedures up-to-date.
  • Work with management to create new compliance monitoring processes in support of Default Servicing. This will include review of exception reports and monitoring of loan statuses for adherence to regulatory requirements from the CFPB and other regulators.
  • Perform quality assurance/control reviews of the work of other analysts on the team.
  • Attend and present information in meetings
  • Assign workflow to other analysts and report back on results to management.
  • Collaborate with management to drive process improvement through regular assessment of existing processes and methods and proposing more effective and efficient methodologies.
  • Responsibility to be cross-trained on all team processes to ensure he/she can adequately support the team and provide updates to managers.

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Mortgage industry experience required
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SQL
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets, mainly in Excel
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
