What You’re Applying For:
Edmunds leverages the Salesforce platform to manage our rapidly growing dealer advertising business. As the Salesforce Data Administrator, you will be responsible for the governance of Salesforce data and ensuring data quality and alignment across internal systems. You will also empower the business to use data to drive decisions by developing reports and dashboards in Salesforce that turn data into actionable insights and trends.
The Salesforce Data Administrator will report to the Sr. Manager, Business Systems and work directly with a team of Salesforce business analysts and developers responsible for maintaining the platform. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new initiatives by identifying critical data segments and providing reporting visibility to support business action.
You will be expected to quickly build technical knowledge about our platform and become a subject matter expert on our business processes and the specific data needs. This is an exciting time to join the Business Systems team. As we embark on a redesign of the Salesforce platform, this candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the new data model and legacy data migration strategy implemented will deliver the organization with the required insights to both maintain the business and scale.
What You’ll Do:
- General administration of Salesforce.com including, user account maintenance, bulk data updates, territory management, ad hoc reporting and other day-to-day tasks
- Partner with Salesforce users and leadership to develop real-time reporting and dashboards that inform business decisions, drive efficiency and team effectiveness
- Establish and maintain best practices in data governance and data hygiene in Salesforce and across systems
- Proactively identify new tools and platforms to optimize and scale Salesforce data management
- Support data analytics with insights into data modeling and key metrics
- Contribute to our team and company data culture through peer collaboration, training on Salesforce reporting techniques, coaching and more
What You Need:
- BA/BS, preferably in an analytical field (e.g. Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Finance)
- Proficiency in SQL and similar (Postgres, SOQL) in object-oriented relational databases
- 2+ years of experience in fields of reporting management and analytics
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Tableau and JIRA
- Knowledge in TalenD, Pentaho, Jitterbit or similar is a plus
- Experience in statistical data analysis (regression/factor analysis) is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to think strategically and creatively about data
- Understand the difference between correlation and causation
