Overview
Responsible for review and analysis of loan remittance transactions. Resolve exceptions, prepare loan adjustments, disposition loan remittances to corresponding loan balances, and review/prepare bank deposits. Review and reporting for remittance transactions in accordance with company policies and all applicable regulatory requirements. Work with numerous departments to research, analyze and support responses to customer, investor and/or other 3rd party inquiries regarding default and/or non-defaulted loans. Handle additional higher level responsibilities such as: more complex levels of transactions, some QA/QC, Audit related routines and training with limited supervision to complete daily tasks and duties. Support the Analyst I role and assist Senior Analyst and with special projects and initiatives as needed.
Job Description

  • Review, capture and resolve remittance exception transactions in accordance with department protocol to meet all investor, insurer, state, federal and other compliance guidelines for specific transaction types and codes
  • Identify/Escalate any scenarios that impact a loan transaction
  • Handle new and aging remittance application and loan adjustment transaction
  • Review QA/QC validation reports on a daily basis and perform corrective action as needed. Escalate when deviations from the normal standards are identified
  • Review and provide feedback on out of balance conditions in the General Clearing Account
  • Process all exception activity to ensure timely completion based established SLAs and escalation where applicable.
  • Process and Review daily posting consolidations to ensure all negotiable items are processed in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies. Escalate any issues that may create a customer impact.
  • Process, document, and follow-up on negotiable items, collaborating with other internal departments to ensure accurate account documentation and posting instructions.
  • Assist with researching and gathering backup for internal Compliance related reports and routines
  • Assist with special projects related to correcting system issues and Compliance related remediation requests
  • Provide feedback to create new compliance monitoring routines and update Policies and Procedures to document the process
  • Responsible for handling daily transactional activities including but not limited to: Review and process all negotiable items received for loan transactions and payoffs; Reconcile activity completed to the consolidations and bank deposits within specified timeframes; Update and balance remittances, wires, logs and statistical reports; Print company disbursements; Prepare/Process remittances to reports and dispatch/mailing of correspondence and remittances. Prepare the end-of-day protocols, ensuring the confidentiality of loans and negotiable items
  • Maintain and provide management with daily reporting
  • Partner with various business units to research and execute non-standard transaction requests
  • Support the Analyst I role and peers to ensure the completion of assigned tasks
  • Assist with training new employees and work with Analyst III/Seniors to maintain and complete training material and logs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Personal computer knowledge, including advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and Gmail
  • Team player with strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and mathematical skills, using sound judgment
  • Knowledge of mortgage industry practices, terminology and technology platforms preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to the mortgage banking industry
  • Experience using automated financial or loan tracking systems preferred
  • Knowledge of customer service and collection principles a plus
  • Basic knowledge of running existing queries and creating reports preferred
  • Proficient in 10-key by touch
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with management
