FRAUD RISK ANALYST II ORM
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Fraud Risk Management (FRM) is the second line of defense team responsible for providing independent and objective oversight of the management of Fraud risk arising from City National Bank's business processes, people, systems or external events. This position provides fraud risk management leadership including providing fraud expertise, advice, and counsel to executives and senior management and enhancing their ability to anticipate and manage fraud risks effectively. This position supports the development and implementation of the bank-wide fraud risk program. This includes driving fraud risk assessments, metrics/key risk indicators, fraud loss analysis, and status of risk remediation activities. This position will also be required to create executive and board level reporting on fraud risk issues, risk appetite, and drivers of fraud
City National Bank (CNB) is a subsidiary of The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). This position will also liaise across the CNB business units and support functions, and RBC Group Risk Management in reporting on the bank's fraud risk profile and other requested program information.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Responsible for executing the enterprise-wide fraud risk program consistent with City National Bank's and RBC's Risk Framework.
- Provide independent review and challenge of new products, new processes, risk assessments, fraud events, self-identified issues.
- Provide specialized guidance, oversight on current and emerging fraud risk issues, monitoring and measuring fraud risk performance, policy adherence, and reviewing and challenging of strategy (initiative, products), control design, implementation, testing, and remediation across CNB
- As a fraud subject matter expert, provide advice, counsel, and training to business and corporate units on fraud risk program management topics, including policies, procedures and reporting metrics
- Execute annual fraud risk assessment, which creates an independent view of fraud risk at CNB, and create thematic reviews of fraud issues important to CNB
- Prepare status reports, key metrics, thematic reviews, fraud updates on a regular cadence and other reports, as requested. Analyze fraud loss information from the bank's General Ledger highlighting trends or variances to forecasts.
- Analyze large volumes of data to uncover fraud trends, emerging risks across business units, channels, and products and perform root cause and impact analysis.
- Support the development of dashboards for reporting, monitoring, and translating fraud risk metrics to senior management.
- Liaise with key stakeholder groups including RBC Risk Management, CNB First Line Fraud, Fraud Operations, Corporate Security, and Legal.
- Support other operational risk teams in the execution of all elements of the CNB Risk Management Program, as needed.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must-Have*
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial services sector
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Risk Management, ORM or Internal Audit preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience with quantitative data modeling, analysis or data management
Skills and Knowledge
- Experience in the financial service industry with a deep understanding of fraud risk management practices and/or operational risk including risk policy, controls, risk limits/thresholds, risk appetite
- Ability to identify and evaluate risk, controls and issues and understand technology control framework (e.g. access and change management)
- Experience delivering information to groups or individuals, understanding audience and tailoring communication appropriately
- Skilled at clearly and concisely communicating ideas and concepts in writing; a fluid communicator with a seamless ability to deliver messaging across the enterprise for varying levels of seniority.
- Ability to analyze data sets; Ability to extract data from multiple sources and draw conclusions
- Strong ability to independently foster relationships across the firm globally.
- Comfort with independently lead projects of varying degree
- Bachelor's degree or higher and other professional qualifications such as a CPA, CA, etc. highly preferred
- Ability to work in a matrix environment
Compensation
Starting base salary: $92,114 - $156,880 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
