FabFitFun is seeking a Director of Data Engineering to lead the development of our real-time self-service data platform. You'll be a technical thought leader and a champion for our data-driven culture as well as manage and grow our data engineering team.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and execute on a comprehensive roadmap that serves key business goals such as a self-service data platform to empower the business owners to make data-driven decisions
• Work with business stakeholders such as but not limited to BI, Finance, and Product to translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Work with the BI Analytics team to enrich and build data sets that enable data-driven decisions across the organization
• Work with DevOps and application engineers to ensure data integrity, governance, stability, accessibility, durability, and performance
• Recruit and lead a high-performing team of data engineers to execute on your technical strategy and vision
• Define development standards, procedures, and guidelines to improve the overall development process
• Mentor data engineers on data architecture and best practices

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline (advanced degree preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in data warehouses, data modeling, systems analysis, and design
• At least 5 years of experience in people management and technical leadership role 
• Strong understanding of data warehouses such as Redshift, Snowflake, and Hadoop
• Mastery of ETL tools such as Alooma, Talend, Informatica, Data Stage, and Fivetran
• Proficient knowledge BI Analytics tools such as Looker, Tableau, Oracle, Pentaho, and SAP
• Mastery of Data Modeling techniques such as Dimensional Modeling, Data Marts, and Data Cubes
• Expert in data architecture, design patterns, data warehouses, modeling, and analysis
• Expert in SQL and Python (or Java or Scala)
• Experience building real-time data pipelines and streaming APIs using technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Samza, Flink, Storm, Heron, and Kinesis
• Collaborative leader and mentor
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Solid organizational and communication skills

• Strong knowledge of data science
