Summary

Pluto TV is seeking a Director of Business Intelligence, who will lead the Business Intelligence team to deliver timely, accurate and actionable advanced analytic insights.

The Director of Business Intelligence will create and lead a best-in-class data, analytics and insights practice, including leveraging the data warehouse, developing reporting dashboards, and support reporting and data analysis throughout the company. The Director of BI will lead a team of analytical professionals in establishing metrics, reporting on KPIs and partnering with data engineers to support the business intelligence needs and have experience AVOD, SVOD or other advertising platforms. This is a hands-on position and the right candidate will be technically strong to enhance our capabilities to make data-driven decisions and recommendations. This individual will collaborate with leadership and direct the team to assure strategic, operational and developmental goals of the organization are met.

Responsibilities Include

This is a critical role with a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Directing the development, implementation and delivery of daily, weekly, monthly reporting, in addition to ad hoc analysis.
• Responsible for managing the day-to-day tactical team operations including: data preparation, reporting, analytics, data exploration, BI center of excellence.
• Work within multiple Business groups to provide frequent insights and business intelligence reports to help them make data-backed decisions.
• Integrate reporting by extracting data from a variety of sources. Partner with senior management to understand and deliver performance insights and key analytics solutions.
• Build, mentor, and guide the business intelligence team to provide BI technical solutions as well as actionable information.
• Provide expertise and leadership in the master data management disciplines of data governance, meta-data management, data quality and master data integration and architecture.

Qualities / Experience We’re Seeking

We believe the right individual will have the following skills and experience in order to be successful in the role:

• 10+ years of experience leading Business Intelligence and/or analytics with track record of increasing leadership growth, complexity and responsibilities.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in a visualization development, business analytics, business intelligence or comparable data engineering role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology.
• 5+ years of team leadership experience and a highly-disciplined self-starter who can positively, and effectively lead a team of Business Intelligence 4-7 analysts.
• Experience in ad-based video on demand and/or digital advertising background highly preferred.
• A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills – proficient verbally and in writing as this person will work across the organization to deliver reports and insights to drive decision making.
• Expert knowledge of SQL to write complex, highly-optimized queries across large volumes of data.
• Expert statistical analysis skills in a language like R, and/or Python
• Experience with Tableau and Excel to create impactful reports, data visualizations, and interactive dashboards
• Proficient in new and emerging technologies, e.g. Alteryx, Dataiku, etc.
• Good understanding of data architecture in a cloud environment with AWS, Google or other.
• Broad experience across different database technologies both relational and non-relation: RedShift, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
• Experience supporting Qualitative Analytics e.g. survey analysis, UX/UI testing, focus group testing, etc. is a major plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related fields.
