DATA ANALYTICS SPECIALIST 1LOD/COE


WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?



A sound internal control framework helps CNB achieve its operational and financial performance goals while operating within the parameters of applicable laws and established risk appetite. Control testing is an integral part of the internal control framework. The Centre of Excellence (CoE) is the group responsible for CNB's control testing. This role will support the consistent and holistic execution of CNB's control testing across the enterprise through (i) the design and implementation of infrastructure and reporting solutions for CoE; (ii) querying, transforming, and documenting the data acquisition process for the team; and (iii) assisting in the development of data based key control tests. This dynamic position provides opportunities for working across CNB, including across the business, 2LOD and internal audit.


WHAT WILL YOU DO?



  • Support verifying data consistency between final reports, source systems, and data input; and assist with researching and enhancing automation methodologies
  • Responsible for analyzing data across multiple databases with a keen eye on data integrity
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of infrastructure and reporting solutions for CoE
  • Responsible for querying, transforming, and documenting the data acquisition process for the CoE
  • Assisting in the development of data based key control tests
  • Ensure a framework and governance structure is in place, to maintain key findings, reporting and access to data of file reviews for regulators
  • Communicate with Control and Data Owners to identify data sources, systems, and requirements relevant to the CoE's testing of Key Controls
  • Exhibit high attention to details in aggregating and communicating control testing results to CNB Senior Management and other stakeholders
  • Enable roll out, maintenance and continuous improvement of Technology and tools to support risk and control initiatives
  • Maintain solid working relationships with data owners across 1LOD.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related technologies strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in reporting or analytics preferably in a data-intensive financial services industry

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong expertise in data querying tools and advance skills in SAS, SQL and/or DataMeer
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (including Pivot Tables and data importing) and Tableau
  • Solid communication skills, and ability to effectively converse with technical and non-technical contacts
  • Proven analytical and problem solving experience, with a collaborative attitude
  • Knowledge of data related to Retail and/or Commercial banking products
