Manager of Data Analytics

As the manager of the Data Analytics team, you will build and lead a team of data analysts to drive the discovery and application of valuable business insights that will lead to significant improvements across business functions, including marketing, product, merchandising, warehouse operations, inventory management, and customer experience. You and your team will work closely and cross-functionally with our Product, Marketing, Ops, Finance, and Showroom teams to build and own business intelligence dashboards, drive ad-hoc and strategic analyses, and enhance our data models that power our supply/demand forecasting and fit algorithm.
The ideal candidate for this role has excellent analytical & communication skills, with the ability and desire to deeply understand the nuances of our business, users, and product in order to drive strategic, actionable, and impactful insights. You are flexible with changing processes while guiding data teams to always prioritize work that drive business results. This role will report to the Chief Product Officer.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with each department within The Black Tux to understand their analytical needs and support them with relevant and actionable business intelligence solutions
- Make sure we’re utilizing our tools and democratizing data throughout the organization
- Recruit, support, and inspire our team of data professionals
- Build and own business intelligence dashboards and disseminate key reports to business functions
- Work with Engineering to ensure that our data models and instrumentation support our data warehousing and business intelligence efforts
- Maintain and incrementally improve our data pipelines and data warehouse, optimizing for accuracy, performance and availability
- Find ways to use data to empower team members across the business and respond in real time
Who You Are
- 5+ years experience in data and analytics-intensive role with an emphasis on quantitative analysis
- 2+ years experience managing BI and analytics teams
- Previous experience in eCommerce and/or fashion is a plus, but not required
- Advanced SQL
- Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, or similar data warehouse platforms, Experience with Apache Airflow, or other ETL, automation & orchestration tools a plus
- Experience using statistics, probability and multivariate regression to help drive business decisions
- Understanding of Bayesian statistics is a plus
- Strong data visualization skills; experience with a tool like Tableau, Looker, Mode or similar
- Proficiency in Python for data analytics (incl. scipy/pandas) a plus
- Ability to simply and persuasively communicate key insights to non-technical stakeholders
