About The Team:

The Standards & Practices team is responsible for ensuring that all content on the Crunchyroll platform adheres to our internal standards as well as complies with any legal/regulatory requirements in countries we operate in. Our goal is to provide our audiences with content ratings and advisories that they need to make informed decisions about their viewing choices. We embody Crunchyroll’s collaborative spirit, and work closely with various internal and external teams to ensure that our decisions are consistent, accurate, timely and clearly communicated to the viewer.

About You:

• 2-3 years experience in broadcast/streaming standards and practices, or equivalent work experience in a related field
• Experience/familiarity with content ratings systems and regulatory bodies
• Possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills
• Ability to view objectively view, discuss, analyze and contextualize content
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of projects with competing deadlines
• Excellent written communication skills, especially in conveying visual information clearly and concisely
• Familiarity with anime highly preferred
• Comfortable with databases and structuring large amounts of data
• Excellent trouble-shooting and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work independently

A day in the life of our Content Analyst:

• Take detailed content notes on new and library titles, games and manga
• Analyze content to determine the appropriate rating and content descriptors
• Work with internal teams to apply preliminary ratings to upcoming releases
• Maintain internal ratings database
• Work with the Director of Taxonomy and Tagging to document content genres and identify tags
• Perform series research for metadata
• Assist Director with staying on top of shifting global attitudes around content.
