FabFitFun is seeking a Business Intelligence Architect to perform deep BI & analysis work that supports company wide analytics and reporting solutions. In this newly created role, the Architect will leverage expertise in BI frameworks and analyze the business impact of various initiatives in team collaboration with Data Engineering, Engineering, DevOps and Finance teams. A successful applicant will have the capability to create back-end reporting solutions and govern the way that data is disseminated. This role is critical to fuel FFF’s data-driven culture and the data first strategy.

What you'll do: 

• Use reporting data modeling techniques and review Looker ML schema layer to propose solutions
• Develop and maintain advanced analytics models, dashboards and reports
• Train internal teams on Looker and other reporting tool features
• Identify ways to scale the analytics/reporting capabilities through Big Data solutions like Spark
• Liaison between BI, data engineering and other tech and products teams to build a scalable BI reporting solution that drives data discovery and deeper data insights
• Perform SDLC best practices by documenting new requirements, gathering data specifications, developments, testing, and implementations
• Work with the Data Science team on embedded analytics using Python data models and embed model scores in Looker and any future BI platforms (ie. Tableau)
• Research new BI platforms and tools that will continue to improve FFF’s analytical capabilities and help monetize new sources and forms of data
• Proficient in Designing, Architecting and Developing ML, Views, PDT etc. in Looker
• Work in a Big Data environment and optimize Looker performance with respect to Redshift and other MPP databases such as Snowflake and Teradata
• Tune reports and dashboards for increased performance
• Write, understand, and debug complex SQL queries
• Continually seek to improve reporting architecture, data quality, standardization of data management processes and quality of service to business.

What you'll bring: 

• BS computer science, Information Technology or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in architecting solutions on enterprise BI reporting platforms like ( MicroStrategy, Looker, Business Objects, and Tableau)
• Proven success in delivering impactful insights and data visualization using Looker and other BI reporting tools including Tableau, Pentaho, or Microstrategy 
• Excellent communicator and interest in leading projects and guiding teams
• Previous experience working in a digital marketing organization and preparing analysis and reports to inform Marketing optimization strategy
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (MySQL ,Oracle etc.), cloud data platform (Redshift) or similar MPP databases like Snowflake, Teradata etc.
• Understanding of e-commerce or subscription business models
• Experience working with Python, R and similar tools for data mining is a plus!
