Business Development and Real Estate Analyst
Reformation is looking for an expert problem solver to join the growing Business Development and Real Estate team. This role is responsible for identifying new revenue opportunities and assessing different business models, strategies, and markets for expansion. This role is highly visible with executive leadership, and will play a crucial part in helping Reformation reach its growth ambition.
The right candidate for this role is results-oriented, analytical, a creative thinker, and a thought-partner to both peers and senior executives. As the Business Development and Real Estate Analyst, you are proactive, able to multitask with ease across multiple projects / deadlines, and motivated to take the lead on ambiguous problems.
What You’ll Do:
- Stay on top of industry trends and proactively identify new areas of growth and optimization across the business (including omnichannel strategy, customer retention, retail real estate, new partnerships / business models, and internal operations / processes)
- Make strategic recommendations to leadership using a mix of market research, surveys, interviews, 1st / 3rd party data, and analysis
- Build robust business cases for new revenue streams with measurable objectives / goals, and clear ROI analysis
- Ensure seamless execution of new processes, partnerships, and initiatives by corralling departments and team members, and working collaboratively with external partners
- Support retail expansion of 10-15 stores per year by identifying attractive markets, evaluating real estate opportunities, developing relationships with brokers / landlords, negotiating term sheets, building financial models, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership
- Identify retail store portfolio optimization opportunities (e.g., repositioning / relocation / expansion) by evaluating and monitoring store performance and market potential
- Develop and maintain reports / dashboards on areas within business development scope, ensuring reports are relevant, accurate, and help the team identify successes / opportunity areas / next steps
Who You Are:
- You are super smart with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Passionate about the evolution of retail and ecommerce
- Have experience / comfort with large datasets using Excel, SQL, or other analytical tools
- Able to execute analysis quickly and effectively
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership
- Exceptionally resourceful, detail-oriented, and highly organized
- Clear and concise communicator
- Open to travel (in accordance with company Covid-related travel policies)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 1-3 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, and/or real estate preferred
