We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Financial Business Analyst to play a critical and dynamic role on the finance team. This candidate will provide the analytical rigor that supports all of our forecasting assumptions and strategic operational decisions. We’re looking for strong analytical skills as well as a proven ability to tell convincing stories utilizing data and numbers. To be successful in this role, you will have a creative, solution-oriented approach to dealing with often limited, messy, or inconsistent data. You are extremely comfortable working cross-functionally, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

As the Financial Business Analyst, you’ll own building reports and analyses that support the monthly financial close and annual budgeting processes, enhance the accuracy of our forecasting models, and provide deep analytics that will drive operational optimization. Your role is critical to providing actionable data insights across all business functions to enable top-line growth, profitability, and identify new business opportunities. What you’ll do:

• Support the Finance & Accounting teams on month end close efforts as well as yearly financial audits, financial forecast models, and annual planning processes
• Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and build and automate reports that will drive real-time business decisions specifically for the Finance & Accounting functions
• Assist in reconciliation of data and financial metrics for accurate financial reporting between core source systems
• Identify and define key business KPI’s and regularly present reports and insights to Executives
• Partner with data engineering and technical teams to ensure that our data is accurate
• Define reporting requirements in partnership with the BI and Data Science teams and translate into technical requirements to build a comprehensive analytics solution
• Oversee maintenance and implementation of financial and accounting systems and tools

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology or another technical field
• 3-5+ years experience in an analytical role
• Expert knowledge and ability to leverage SQL queries to surface data from source systems and build reports
• Proven success in delivering impactful insights and data visualization using Looker or other BI reporting tools including Tableau, Pentaho, or Microstrategy
• Strong understanding of finance/accounting reporting needs and metrics
• Excellent communicator and interest in leading projects and answering complex problems
• Advanced skills in MS Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and charting
• Experience working with Python, R and similar tools for data mining is a plus
• Understanding of ecommerce and/or subscription business models is a plus
