Sleeper is seeking a sharp, curious, and collaborative Data Scientist to join our growing team. This role will partner closely with product, engineering, and business teams to drive decision-making through rigorous analysis, scalable pipelines, and impactful insights. You’ll be instrumental in shaping how we define success, measure performance, and uncover opportunities across key parts of our product and business.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ensure reliable, timely access to core product and business data.

  • Define and develop core metrics to measure product performance, feature adoption, user engagement, and strategic initiatives.

  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards in Tableau (or similar BI tools) to deliver clear, actionable insights to product and business stakeholders.

  • Design and analyze experiments (A/B tests) to evaluate new features and product changes.

  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights using statistical analysis and visual storytelling.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, designers, and executives to drive impact through data.

  • Proactively identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities hidden in user behavior and market dynamics.

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Strong command of SQL and Python, or similar data-focused languages.

  • Proficiency in Tableau or similar BI tools.

  • Proven experience with data modeling, pipeline design, and working with large-scale datasets.

  • Solid understanding of experimental design, causal inference, and statistical analysis.

  • Ability to visualize and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Prior experience in a product analytics, business intelligence, or data science function.

Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Experience working with Marketing teams to design promotional strategies, segment and target users, and measure effectiveness of campaigns.

  • Experience working with large-scale product usage data to uncover patterns in user behavior, engagement, retention, and conversion.

  • Experience working in real money gaming or other high-velocity transaction environments.

  • Experience working with teams focused on monetization and gaming economies.

Qualifications:

We believe in fair and equitable pay. Certain locations in the United States require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary range and/or a general description of benefits and other compensation applicable to the role.

For this role, in this particular location, a reasonable estimate of the base salary range for new hires is between $75,000 USD to $175,000 USD, plus benefits including Medical, Dental, PTO, and 401k.

Please note that the salary range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
