Simple Technology Solutions is looking for a Data Scientist to add to our team.
Quick Position Overview:
- US Citizenship is required
- B.S Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 6 years' position-related experience is required
- Databricks Certification and experience preferred
The Role:
The Data Scientist in this role will collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive solutions. The Data Scientist will also work across the organization, to support multiple programs. Will be responsible for input involving, architectural guidance across multiple platforms.
The Data Scientist at STS will:
- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive solutions
- Mine and analyze data from databases to drive optimization and improvement
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
- Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences and other business outcomes
- Develop testing framework and test model quality
- Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
- Suggest technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams, ensuring that new initiatives enable effective data reporting
- Ensure effective communication of user requirements
- Build data structures to support requirements
- Superb organizational skills. Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change
Education and Experience:
Required
- B.S Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field
- At least six (6) of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models
- Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis
- Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, Python, SLQ
- Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks
- Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights
- Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Databricks
- Must be able to work the hours of 8am-5pm Eastern Time regardless of your home location
