About GrowthX AI

At GrowthX, we've redefined what AI-powered growth means for modern marketing teams. Since launching in 2024, we've grown from concept to eight-figure annual revenue. To date, we've raised a $12M Series A led by Madrona Venture Group and we partner with 50+ companies ranging from high-growth startups to industry leaders like Surge AI, Loveable, Webflow, Ramp, Superhuman, Strapi, Abnormal Security, and Homebase.

We've built something different—what we call "service-as-software." Instead of handing you tools and leaving you to figure them out, we deliver complete outcomes. Our platform combines sophisticated AI workflows with expert human oversight to create, distribute, and optimize content that drives real business results.

Our philosophy is simple: AI should serve experts, not replace them. We're not just building software. We're building the growth infrastructure that marketing teams wish they'd always had.

The Role

One example of work will be defining how we measure LLM search visibility and product success at GrowthX. The role blends analytics, experimentation, dataset/taxonomy design, sampling strategies, and applied modeling. You’ll design the right metrics and evals, build workflows for continuous measurement, run experiments, and perform deep dives that directly shape how our product evolves to improve brand visibility in LLM search and their content strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze LLM search data at scale — build and maintain datasets, categories, labels, and sampling approaches that support consistent measurement.

  • Define the core metrics we should track and help with workflow evals to measure our agentic workflows to maintain our product quality.

  • Conduct deep dives into product usage to identify opportunities and guide product strategy.

  • Programmatically evaluate prompts, categories, and taxonomies used in our AI visibility to ensure accuracy and coverage as we scale.

  • Design, implement, and interpret A/B tests to improve product features and the marketing effectiveness we deliver for clients.

  • Track brand visibility and LLM patterns in AI search and translate them into actionable tactics and product improvements for our client’s marketing strategies.

  • Build on our the AI visibility research that drives our product strategy for helping brands improve their presence in LLM search.

  • Build and maintain predictive models that power both product functionality and analytics insights.

  • Transform raw data into clear narratives that change how clients operate and inform product direction.

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Growth, and Design across high-velocity, ambiguous product work.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years as a Data Scientist with analytics and predictive /ML modeling responsibility.

  • Strong foundation in traditional ML approaches especially with classification and unsupervised modeling for categorization, ranking, or pattern discovery.

  • Experience in experimentation (A/B testing, statistical inference) and defining product metrics.

  • Very strong SQL and Python skills; ability to own analytics, data modeling and data science pipelines end-to-end.

  • Experience working with large, messy datasets, including sampling and labeling/taxonomy design.

  • Experience in prompt engineering, LLM evaluation concepts or hands-on exposure to LLM products.

  • Comfortable driving clarity in open-ended, rapidly evolving problem spaces.

  • Able to influence product decisions through crisp communication and reasoning.

  • MS/PhD in a technical field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with modern data stacks especially as an admin (dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, etc.).

  • Full-stack data skills: data engineering pipelines + ML modeling + production integration.

  • Prior experience at an early-stage or fast-growing company, bonus point if as a first data scientist.

  • Prior experience embedded into GTM, Growth, SEO/marketing teams, or work experience in dev tools, search or content/marketing platforms.

  • Exposure to embeddings, retrieval systems, and LLM architecture fundamentals.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
