We're looking for a data-driven, business-savvy analytics professional to join our global team. This role is critical in transforming complex data into actionable insights that influence strategic decisions across the business. You'll enhance Power BI dashboards, interpret market indicators, and communicate findings .
What You Will Do:
  • Collect, model, and analyze large datasets to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Enhance Power BI dashboards and databases; address data connectivity and visualization gaps.
  • Translate economic and financial market indicators into business recommendations.
  • Create executive-ready PowerPoint presentations and communication materials.
  • Collaborate across global teams, driving insights without direct authority.
  • Promote semantic data capabilities using NLP, text analysis, and machine learning techniques.
  • Conduct research to optimize data models and improve analytical accuracy.

What You Will Bring:
  • Background in Data Analytics, Economics, Supply Chain, or Finance.
  • Strong Power BI skills: building, maintaining, and improving dashboards and data models.
  • Ability to communicate complex data clearly to senior leaders.
  • Self-starter mindset with accountability to a global team.
  • Proficiency in executive communication tools (PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Understanding of procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and cost modeling.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, Python/R, and data visualization tools.

Understands key concepts like distributions and standard deviation.
Interprets and communicates basic statistical findings.

Uses visual tools (e.g., flow charts, Pareto diagrams) to identify patterns.

Machine Learning
Applies ML tools (e.g., Python, R) for data mining and optimization.
Supports business improvements through predictive analytics.
Programming Languages
Writes and modifies code using structured programming standards.
Supports implementation and troubleshooting of scripts.
Query and Database Access Tools
Builds and runs queries to extract and manipulate data.
Uses advanced features like filtering, sorting, and calculations.
Requirements Analysis
Gathers and documents business and technical requirements.
Communicates effectively with stakeholders.
Power BI & Communication
Builds and maintains Power BI dashboards and databases.
Creates executive-ready presentations and communicates insights clearly.
Collaborates across global teams with minimal oversight.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Experience working in global or cross-functional teams.
  • A blend of technical and procurement expertise.
  • Familiarity with commodities or steel market dynamics.
  • Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
  • Proficiency in additional data tools such as Tableau or advanced Excel.
  • Understanding of Caterpillar's business structure and planning cycles.

Additional Details:
  • Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

  • Travel requirements are minimal (less than 10%)
  • Dallas, TX is the preferred location for this role; however, we are open to candidates located at other Caterpillar RI facilities based on fit and qualifications.

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $142,200.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
