In this role, you’ll work with cross-functional team focused on driving our growth strategy. You will leverage our Databricks-powered data lake and cutting-edge machine learning workflows to build predictive models, run marketing and product experiments, and help optimize decision-making across the business.

You’ll work closely with product, marketing, data engineers, and leadership to shape the strategy with insights grounded in rigorous analytics.

  • Marketing Attribution & ROI Modeling: Build frameworks and models to measure the impact of paid/organic channels, incrementality, and campaign performance.

  • Forecasting & Planning: Develop statistical and ML models for forecasting revenue, user growth, CAC, LTV, and product spend.

  • Experimentation & Optimization: Design and analyze A/B and multivariate tests to optimize landing pages, onboarding flows, and product campaigns.

  • Behavioral Segmentation: Identify key user segments and behaviors that drive conversion and retention. Build targeting logic for CRM and lifecycle marketing.

  • Predictive Modeling: Build models for churn prediction, next-best-action, CLV, and product engagement.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with growth, product, and marketing teams to understand business needs and translate data insights into strategic actions.

  • Data Storytelling: Deliver actionable dashboards, reports, and presentations for leadership and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in data science roles with a strong focus on growth, marketing, or product analytics.

  • Statistical & ML Expertise: Proficient in modeling (logistic regression, time series, uplift modeling, etc.), experimentation, causal inference, and segmentation.

  • Tools: Advanced SQL and Python (pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, plotly/seaborn). Familiarity with dbt or similar a plus.

  • Platform Proficiency: Deep hands-on experience using Databricks(or a similar datalake) for data analysis and ML (including Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow).

  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of CAC, LTV, ROAS, MTA, media mix modeling, and growth loops. Background in Web3 preferred.

  • Data Visualization: Strong communicator of insights via dashboards or reports (Tableau, Looker, or Databricks-native tooling).

  • Business Acumen: Ability to translate models and trends into tangible growth strategies and business outcomes

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
