Data Scientist/Data Engineer
Full Spectrum is seeking a curious and customer-focused Data Scientist/Engineer to support a key client project. This is a remote/hybrid role that blends the skills of a data engineer and a BI engineer, focusing on turning complex data into clear, actionable insights. The ideal candidate excels at collaborating with stakeholders, understanding their needs, and using their technical skills to build robust dashboards and data models. You will be the crucial link between raw data and business decision-making, with a strong emphasis on analytics, problem-solving, and communication.
This is a remote/hybrid position based out of Westborough, MA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal customers to understand their business challenges, gather data requirements, and translate them into technical solutions and analytical frameworks.
· Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain insightful and user-friendly dashboards in Tableau, ensuring data is visualized effectively to answer key business questions.
· Data Modeling & Querying: Develop and manage curated data models and sources that are optimized for business intelligence. Utilize SQL and AWS Athena to query and analyze large datasets.
· Data Preparation: Perform light ETL/ELT tasks as needed to prepare and cleanse data for analysis and reporting.
· Cloud Analytics: Leverage AWS services to support analytics workflows, including preparing datasets for machine learning initiatives using AWS SageMaker.
· Problem Solving: Act as a data subject matter expert, troubleshooting data inconsistencies and providing analytical support to business users.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3-5 years experience in an analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering role
· Proficiency with Tableau for creating compelling and accurate visualizations
· Strong proficiency in SQL for complex querying and data analysis
· Hands-on experience with the AWS cloud platform, particularly with analytical services like AWS Athena and AWS SageMaker
· Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
· Proficiency in Python for data analysis and scripting
· Experience with data visualization techniques
· Experience with data pipeline development and optimization
· Demonstrated commitment to high quality
· Highly motivated, self-disciplined, independent and results oriented
· Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, or equivalent years of experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
· Familiarity with software development best practices (e.g., version control with Git, CI/CD, etc.)
