Summary
This position is for a 12 week internship within the Data Science team at Ever.ag. The goal would be to assist the data science team in their continued development and deployment of leading data science applications in the food production supply chain space.
What are some potential projects?
The project(s) will vary depending on the research and customer projects that current when the intern joins the team.
Likely projects / work streams will include:
- Cleaning and analyzing large complex data sets for commodity food processor to provide insights to customers regarding potential production improvements
 
- Working with services and ADL data scientists to understand and document customer problems and translate this into application development and data science requirements
 
- Assess cutting edge machine learning techniques in the analysis of large complex data sets for food production companies
 
- Develop data science forecasting techniques to improve commodity forecasting accuracy
 
- Other duties as assigned
 
What competencies can you expect to receive/improve?
- Improve technical skills regarding the parsing and analysis of large complex data sets. In particular develop a good understanding of the use of modern data analysis techniques including PYTHON, SQL, R and others
 
- Improve presentation skills by summarizing complex data analysis for the understanding of senior executives
 
- Appreciate the development of robust production software applications from design to testing and release
 
- Hone skills in the general data science field
 
About You (Qualifications):
- Candidates must be pursuing a bachelors degree or higher in applied science or mathematics or similar from an accredited college or university with a graduation date after August 2026.
 
- Should have a real interest in the application of modern math techniques in the advancement of data science research
 
- An interest in continuous production and food processing is useful
 
- Comfort in taking disparate and complex data sets and refining them into useful, practical insights is helpful
