Overview
Day-to-day work:
The intern will work on advanced data science and machine learning projects. Responsibilities include developing and implementing algorithms such as classification, supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and neural networks. They will assist in building predictive models, optimizing algorithms, and validating results. The intern will also work with large datasets using platforms like Databricks and Palantir, perform feature engineering, and create visualizations to communicate insights effectively. Collaboration with senior data scientists and analysts will be a key part of their daily activities.
Ideal candidate skills and experience:
The ideal candidate should have advanced proficiency in Python for data science and machine learning, including libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch. Experience with Databricks and Palantir for big data processing and analytics is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and familiarity with data visualization tools is expected. Candidates should also demonstrate a solid understanding of machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, classification algorithms, and neural networks. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly are essential.

Challenges may include working with large and complex datasets, applying advanced machine learning techniques to real-world business problems, and ensuring model interpretability and compliance. The top three skills needed to overcome these challenges are:
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Technical proficiency in Python and ML frameworks. Strong communication and collaboration skills to explain insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Location: Can work in any of the 50 US States.
Remote(summer): 40/hrs. a week, 12 week program (May-August2026)
Pay Range :$21-30/hr.

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
