We work with some of your favorite disruptor brands—like Calm, Vuori, Rocket Money, and hundreds more—to grow their business using linear and streaming TV ads. Our platform combines sophisticated media buying with proprietary analytics to turn TV advertising into an automated, digital-like experience. Our technology and services are pushing the industry forward, enabling businesses of any size to advertise on TV.

Named one of the 16 Hottest Ad Tech Companies by Business Insider and Best Places to Work by Inc. Magazine, Tatari is experiencing rapid growth. Our executive team is comprised of former founders and senior leaders at fast-rising startups like Shazam, TrueCar, AdapTV, and LiveRail and larger, more established tech companies like Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Yahoo.

We’re looking for a full-time data science analyst intern to join us for the Summer 2025. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment with diverse data sets and technologies to build production quality, scalable and automated solutions for a diverse set of challenging data problems. Under the guidance of our Senior Data Scientists and Senior Data Analysts, you will have the freedom to utilize the latest technologies to solve challenging problems, create innovative applications from the ground up, and understand exactly what it takes to create a reliable online experience for our customers. This role collaborates closely with our technology teams to provide profound insights from your analysis, and optimize our business, with the ultimate goal of helping Tatari redefine the TV ad buying experience. This internship requires a minimum of 10 week commitment.

What You'll Do:

  • Solve real-time optimization problems utilizing machine learning algorithms
  • Explore and refine algorithms to help guide expansion opportunities into new lines of business
  • Automate data-driven tasks; design processes that require zero intervention
  • Work cross-functionally within the organization to deliver integrated business solutions
  • Provide ad-hoc data analysis, use data to identify and forecast trends and conduct deep-dive quantitative analyses to optimize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in any of the named fields (Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other STEM field)
  • Completed a minimum of two years of college/university by Summer 2025. You have not yet graduated, and you will be continuing with school after this internship
  • Strong interest in designing and developing analytics
  • Experience with or interest in Data Manipulation Software (e.g., SQL, Python, Pandas)
  • A quick learner, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; adaptability and a strong self-teaching ethic are highly valued
  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities
  • Interest in learning to manipulate, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data and to organize findings and translate them into actionable insights using original or innovative techniques

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of statistics and probability

Benefits + Perks:

  • Competitive salary ($70-90K annual equivalent)
  • You can pick where you want to be for the summer: San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City!
  • Hybrid schedule: minimum 2 days per week
  • Snacks, drinks, and catered lunches at the office
  • Team building events
  • Laptop and peripherals provided

At Tatari, we believe in the importance of cultivating teams with diverse backgrounds and offering equal opportunities to all. We strive to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every team member feels valued and diversity is celebrated.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
