The Data Quality Executive position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and detail of Cision’s global media database through productive research and contributing to the weekly publishing of the Global Media Research team’s weekly North American “Media Brief” newsletter. The primary focus of this position is on the US market, but with a need to assist globally when required. This role is for an experienced researcher who understands the US media landscape in detail and who stays abreast of media changes in the region, while working autonomously on big projects to improve database quality. We’re looking for somebody who has strong Internet sleuthing skills, is happy working independently, and has an eye for detail when it comes to entering data as well as writing and editing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Researches media outlets and journalists via online research, emailing and phone calls.
• Updates the database accordingly, with an emphasis on major US outlets and/or senior journalists.
• Undertakes special clean-up projects focused on improving data quality.
• Maintains a high level of awareness about media industry news in the US, to ensure the database is kept up to date in a timely fashion.
• Writes short snippets summarizing recent key media changes, to be published in the weekly Media Brief newsletter.
• Manages admin and communication responsibilities efficiently.
Minimum Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in related fields.
• At least a two years of experience working in media research or the broader media/PR industry.
• Previous writing and/or editing experience.
• Ability to multitask and self-organize in a high-volume environment.
• Excellent Computer (MS office) skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
For Individuals based in New York, Illinois, Colorado, Washington, and California, Cision is required to disclose a salary range for this role. This compensation range is specific to these states, however base pay may vary depending on a range of relevant factors.
