Vineskills is an implementation partner for a case and document management platform called Filevine. As a Data Migration Engineer at Vineskills, you will work directly with our team members and clients to scope out their data migration needs, create scripts, work with SQL to prepare data and perform large data and document migrations.
Location: This position is open to U.S.-based candidates only at this time.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan, scope, and execute data migrations from legacy systems into Filevine.
- Develop and optimize SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Collaborate with clients to understand their data structures and migration needs.
- Perform data mapping, cleansing, and validation to ensure data accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues, escalating when necessary.
- Conduct post-migration testing and quality assurance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, issues, and resolutions.
- Provide support and training to clients and internal teams on data migration best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Filevine Data Migration Engineer Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Mid-level Python skills
- Familiarity with APIs and integrations.
- Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
- Experience with ETL processes and tools such as SSIS, CloverDX, or custom scripting.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex database structures.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for data-related issues.
- Understanding of data security best practices.
Preferred (Bonus) Skills:
- Prior experience in legal case management or CRM data migrations.
- Experience with cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Google Cloud, or similar).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems (Git, GitLab).
- CJIS certification (or willingness to obtain for working with sensitive legal data).
