The Opportunity…

As a Data Engineer Intern at Centerfield, you’ll work closely with our Data Engineering team to support the development, testing, and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure that power our business. You'll gain hands-on experience writing and testing code, learning how data drives performance, and how we create scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment. This is a unique opportunity to learn the core of data engineering while collaborating with a team that’s building real-time, intelligent technology solutions.

How You'll Contribute…

• Write and test clean, efficient, and scalable code

• Support and complete low-level tickets related to data ingestion, ETL pipelines, and tooling

• Participate in Level of Effort (LOE) estimations and planning

• Learn and contribute to internal data engineering processes and tools

• Analyze, manipulate, and query data to support projects

• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to understand and support data needs

• Learn the business and how data plays a central role in our success

• Complete a capstone project with real business impact, and present your work to Centerfield leadership at the end of your internship

What We're Looking For…

• Eagerness to learn and a growth mindset!

• Rising seniors or recent grads (Spring 2025) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field

• Familiarity with SQL, Python, and data pipeline frameworks

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to write and test code effectively

• Basic understanding of programming languages and tools

• Interest in working with large data sets and solving real-world data challenges

• Local to our Playa Vista HQ and able to work in-office 3 days per week

Bonus Points!

• Understanding of ETL processes and data modeling

• Interest in digital marketing, analytics, or advertising

• Curiosity around cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure) or data platforms

This is a 12-week paid internship starting in June 2025 and ending in August 2025. The internship program will be 24 hours per week where you will come into the office Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays.
