Job Description:
The Data Conversion Analyst has the primary responsibility of analyzing the legacy Warehouse Management System (WMS) data source and mapping conversion data into the target WMS to support a successful WMS conversion. The data mining, mapping and conversion process will include transformation, data staging, validation and loading processes primarily utilizing SQL SSIS/SSMS/Stored Procedures and other utilities as needed. The Data Conversion Analyst will join an existing data conversion team and collaborate with business stakeholders and cross functional teams to ensure a successful, on-time WMS conversion.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Mine source data from legacy WMS including master, inventory, and transactional data.
  • Map and transform legacy WMS source data for use within target WMS and associated databases.
  • Partner with other team members to validate data transformation and load into target WMS system
  • Identifies data sources, provides data flow diagrams, and documents source to target mapping and process.
  • Collaborate with the WMS conversion team to recommend enhanced data models for data collection, transformation, validation, and ingestion processes.
  • Analyze existing data transformation and validation tools and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and standardization
  • Assist the WMS conversion team to meet project deliverables and deadlines
  • Communicate status and obstacles to Project Manager and overall WMS conversion team
  • Collaborate within a diverse team of talent and personalities to achieve a successful WMS conversion

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of data analysis and transformation experience
  • 5+ years importing/transforming/exporting data between different sources using SSIS/SSMS and Stored Procedures.
  • Deep understanding of relational database design concepts, SSIS and SQL programming
  • Requires strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical customers.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.

 Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in the related field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience with system conversion projects
  • Supply Chain or Logistics industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with JavaScript, React JS, CSS and Bitbucket.
