Position Summary
We are seeking a technically strong and people-centric Data & Automation Manager to co-lead our growing team of software developers and technical project managers. The Data & Automation team builds internal tools and scripts that empower cross-functional partners, particularly in digital advertising, product, and supply chain. These solutions help scale our eCommerce engine, which currently processes 10,000+ orders daily for our over 1,000,000+ customers,including Marvel, Domino’s, and Lululemon. In this leadership role, you will co-manage a high-impact team of up to 7 engineers focused on Python scripting, data automation, and analytics tooling. You’ll guide architecture decisions, ensure technical excellence, and nurture career development across the team. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on manager passionate about team growth, system design, and collaborative problem-solving in a high-scale eCommerce setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage, coach, and mentor a team of up to 7 engineers and developers. Build individual growth plans, foster a culture of collaboration, and provide regular, actionable feedback.
- Technical Oversight: Lead architecture and code quality efforts, particularly in Python-based automation. Support the design of modular, scalable tools that serve teams in digital advertising, operations, and product.
- Project Execution: Guide projects from concept to deployment, managing scope, technical strategy, and stakeholder expectations. Ensure solutions are efficient, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., marketing, supply chain, operations) to understand workflows, identify automation opportunities, and translate business goals into technical deliverables.
- Mentorship & Code Review: Support junior developers through technical reviews, sharing best practices in scripting, modular architecture, and data handling.
- Continuous Optimization: Drive process improvements through data analysis and feedback loops. Champion a continuous improvement mindset, both technically and operationally.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years of professional coding experience, with 3+ years managing or mentoring technical teams.
- Technical Skills: Strong hands-on expertise in Python and libraries such as Polars, Pandas, NumPy, and SQL. Demonstrated experience with data automation, scripting large-scale processes, and tool development. Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and modular codebases.
- Industry Insight: Experience working in or with eCommerce, digital advertising, or logistics environments is a strong plus.
- Leadership & Growth Mindset: Proven track record of supporting junior engineers and fostering a learning culture. Passion for mentoring and guiding structured career growth.
