Brown & Brown is Seeking an Data Architect to join our growing team.

The Data Architect will lead the design and evolution of enterprise data architecture to support strategic business initiatives, including AI enablement, analytics modernization, and data governance. This role will define and enforce architectural standards, ensure scalable and secure data solutions, and partner across business and technology teams to align data capabilities with enterprise goals.

How You Will Contribute

  • Define and maintain enterprise data architecture blueprints, including data models, integration patterns, and metadata standards.
  • Lead the design of scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms that support analytics, AI, and operational use cases.
  • Establish architectural guardrails for data movement, storage, and access across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into robust data solutions.
  • Ensure alignment with data governance, privacy, and security standards.
  • Lead data architecture components of application modernization efforts, including re-platforming legacy systems to cloud-native architectures.
  • Design data services and APIs to support microservices, event-driven architectures, and containerized workloads.
  • Partner with application architects to ensure data strategies align with modernization roadmaps and performance goals.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to inform architectural decisions.
  • Support the development of reusable data assets, including canonical models, APIs, and semantic layers.
  • Mentor technical teams on best practices in data architecture and engineering.
  • Partner with product, analytics, and engineering teams to ensure architectural consistency and delivery excellence.
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for data-centric design across the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of a modular, agentic data architecture that supports human-in-the-loop validation and AI strategy.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture roles.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing modern data platforms (e.g., data lakes, lakehouses, data mesh).
  • Demonstrated experience in application modernization, including migration of legacy systems to cloud-native environments.

Pay Range

$150,000 - $170,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
