Overview: 

As a Data Architect at the Principal level in our mortgage servicing, SaaS-based, financial technical company, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of comprehensive data architecture solutions. Leveraging your extensive experience and expertise in data management, you will drive the development of data collection frameworks, infrastructure systems, and data standards to meet the business needs. Additionally, you will provide guidance to team members, conduct research on industry trends, and apply structured methodologies to deliver innovative data products.

Your day-to-day at Sagent:

Data Architecture Leadership:
  • Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive data architecture solutions to meet business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, serving as a technical lead or project manager.
Data Integration and Management:
  • Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques to connect large datasets from diverse sources, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure systems, including data warehouses and data lakes, and data access APIs.
Data Governance and Quality Assurance:
  • Define data standards, governance routines, and data quality monitoring controls to ensure compliance with business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement processes and procedures to maintain data quality and consistency across the organization.
Research and Innovation:
  • Research current industry, market, and technology trends to identify opportunities for innovation and business enablement.
  • Apply knowledge and experience to drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to improve data architecture and management practices.

We would love to hear from you if you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant discipline with 10 - 12 years of experience in a related field, including at least 4 years within a SaaS or financial technology company. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in applying a theoretical knowledge base to achieve goals through independent work.
  • Specific functional expertise typically gained through formal education and experience in data architecture and management.
  • Ability to provide guidance to others as an individual contributor, project manager, or technical lead.
  • Experience in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) techniques to connect large datasets from various sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to create data collection frameworks for structured and unstructured data.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining infrastructure systems, such as data warehouses and data lakes, including data access APIs.
  • Strong understanding of data standards, governance routines, and data quality monitoring controls to meet business needs.
  • Ability to research current industry, market, and technology trends for competitive analysis and business enablement.
  • Experience applying a structured methodology for delivering new or enhanced products to the marketplace.
  • Proficient in refining project goals and tactics to achieve those goals; understands the value of development management and project management frameworks and best practices.

Additional Skills/Technical Knowledge Preferred: 

  • 12+ years of experience as a data modeler, developer, data warehouse consumer and / or data related operations
  • 3+ Years of working experience or exposure to Azure, GCP or any other Cloud development and deployment practices.
  • 4+ Years of Experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner. 
  • 3+ years of experience with deployments via devops CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to astutely operate in the organization, and being able to emphasize methodology, modeling and (Data, Process and Application) governance.
  • Strong PLSQL skills with working knowledge of .Net and Java.
  • Mid-level to expert knowledge in data integration concepts, source-to-target mapping techniques and requirements documentation for ETL team to follow
  • Highly skilled in managing all aspects of all sizes and complexities of multiple projects simultaneously across the software development life cycle phases (SDLC). 
  • Strong track record of interviewing business partners, setting and managing expectations in relation to deliverables and requirements 
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies and software project life cycle and associated methodologies. 
  • Experience with standard systems analysis tools and procedures 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects. 
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and customer service skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish deep understanding of clients business issues. 

Preferred

  • 3+ years of people leadership skills will be a big plus 
  • 4+ Mortgage and/or financial industry knowledge is strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Big Data concepts in organizing both structured and unstructured data is a big plus
